Martina Mabuza

I am a young dedicated, committed, goal-driven conservationist. My name is Martina Nonhlanhla Mabuza, I am from Pretoria born and raised in the city but city life was never made for me. I speak four different South African languages. I enjoy working with people and the environment. My other skills are snake handling, environmental education and 303 firearm handler. I have had the opportunities of doing my National Diploma practicals in KZN with Ezemvelo Wildlife where I was taught how to manage and treat wildlife, the ecology of the specific reserves, animal husbandry, administrative works, invasive plant projects and soil erosion monitoring which I found very exciting and fun! I hold a National Diploma as well as a Bachelor's degree in Nature Conservation, both completed in different areas Diploma at Tshwane University of Technology and BTech at Nelson Mandela University, George Campus. Currently, I am working at the West Coast Fossil Park as a Tour Guide/Environmental Educator, I am blessed and fortunate enough to have a job, I got great Managers and the people I work with are filled with happiness. I would love to further my studies in the next coming year or two with a Master's or start a new course, Wildlife Veterinary or even Project Management as I do find myself interested in all of them

Lesley-Ann Cornelius

I am from the small town, Vredendal, on the west coast. I obtained my BSc (Hons) in Environmental and Water Science from the University of the Western Cape and then went on to do my MSc in Environmental Sciences at the University of the Witwatersrand. My research was based on Stakeholder participation in surface water and groundwater quality management in the Waterberg area in the Limpopo province. The main focus of this study was to  spark a conversation on the contribution that multiple stakeholders of various structures contribute or should contribute to the decision-making process in how their water resources are managed and how the current management practices are impacting the quality of the water resources. Just over a year ago, I moved back to my hometown and find myself in the mining industry as an environmental practitioner at Tronox Namakwa Sands where I am responsible for all environmental monitoring at their northern operations. In my free time traveling, being in the outd
